I’ve never read a book from Gerard that I disliked, and this is no exception. Fellow fans of this series will enjoy what a big part many of the guys featured in past novels play. I still recommend reading them all – as it lets you know the characters better, and builds anticipation for when each of these heroes gets his own book just like any series. Past characters and sometimes plot lines are re-visited in these novels, but mostly they can be read as stand-alone. As far as if they need to be read in order to enjoy- no. In other words – just call me a fan girl. Just like any great action packed romance, they sometimes border on silly and unbelievable, have emotionally charged scenes, inappropriate moments for sexy time, and memorable scenes as well. I am a huge fan of this steamy series – and really enjoy Gerard’s writing style and characters. Of course being that this is a fictional group of ex-special forces males in romanceland, this should not be surprising.
The answer is no – being attractive is a part of the team requirements it would seem. The story takes off right away – with them racing across the countryside, meeting up with Luke’s team (hooray!) and unraveling the mystery of who is after her, why, and what the unstoppable force of the BOI’s can do to stop them. Yes, if I’m on a train and some bad guys want to kidnap me I hope I happen to be sitting across from a mega hot ex-special forces dude. On a midnight train across the Peruvian Andes these two happen to be sitting together – and it’s lucky for her – when a couple of hired guns come looking for her. I’ve long wondered who Cindy would choose to pair with the team’s medic, – turns out she chose to go with an internationally famous most people recognize her face super model named Valentina.
